Whiteboard Chemistrywith Joe White

About Me

I’m a full-time chemistry tutor with a passion for helping students build confidence and achieve exceptional results. Over more than a decade of teaching and tutoring, I’ve supported students from a wide range of schools through GCSE Science and A Level Chemistry.

I studied Chemistry at Imperial College London (First Class MSci) and completed my PGCE in Secondary Science (Chemistry) at UCL Institute of Education. I taught for three years in a large North London secondary school, where I became Head of Department (Key Stage 3 Science) and led a team of over a dozen teachers.

As an experienced examiner for both A Level and GCSE Chemistry, I help students understand exactly what examiners look for — developing the confidence and technique needed to secure top marks. I also have extensive UCAS experience, having worked as a Sixth Form tutor reviewing personal statements and writing references, and I now offer support with UCAS preparation as part of my tuition.

I’m now based in Calgary, Canada, teaching students online across the UK and Europe. The time difference allows me to teach in the mornings here, which aligns perfectly with after‑school and evening study times in Europe.
