Joe White.

I'm a full-time chemistry tutor with a passion for helping students build confidence and achieve exceptional results. Over the past decade I've supported students from a wide range of schools through GCSE Science and A-Level Chemistry — independent, grammar, comprehensive, and international.

I studied Chemistry at Imperial College London, graduating with a First Class MSci, and completed my PGCE in Secondary Science (Chemistry) at UCL Institute of Education. I then taught for three years in a large North London secondary school, where I became Head of Department for Key Stage 3 Science, leading a team of more than a dozen teachers.

I'm an examiner for both A-Level and GCSE Chemistry, which means I see thousands of student scripts every year. That feedback loop — what students at the top get right, where the rest get stuck, the precise language that earns the mark — sits behind every lesson I teach.

Alongside teaching I worked as a Sixth Form form tutor, reviewing personal statements and writing UCAS references for STEM applications. UCAS support — structure, course choice, interview preparation — is part of every A-Level package.

I'm based in Calgary, Canada, teaching students online across the UK and Europe. The seven- to eight-hour time difference means I teach in the mornings here, which lines up cleanly with after-school and evening study time over there.
